What Is a Budget?

A budget is simply your truest of intentions laid out in some meaningful way so that your money can do the work of realizing those intentions. A budget isn't a strict, stringent, inflexible, external thing that you then blame when life just normal life happens. So it's really about you figuring out what you want most in life right now and saying, okay, this is what I want the most. And then you make sure that your money will help you realize what you want. That is a budget. But at the end of the day, you are dealing with reality.
