The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister's Visit to Beijing on Sunday
The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister just happened to be in Beijing on Sunday, you know, the day after the coup was put down. Do we know anything about whether or not that visit was always going to happen? I'm not 100% but I think it was a planned visit because of course they're putting a lot of diplomatic effort into keeping China onside anyway. Despite all the censorship of pro-Ukrainian materials, the pro-Russian broadcast on TV, they haven't cut Moscow a lot of slack and even stuff like energy deals.
