As a kid with mental health stuff, I cannot even imagine what that must have been like. It becomes not just a relationship about power but because your parents are trying to help you. And they are saying, we need to fix you so you can join the poor vampire properly. "I'm paying a lot of money for a cat to get better treatment than my spouse and I in order to just pick up medications from a pharmacist who wears a white coat for a reason"
