i'm speaking to David columbia, an associate professor in the english department at virginia commonwealth university. He's also writing a book on siber libertarianism for minnesota university press which will come out next year. i recently reread langdon winters, do artifacts have politics. In that article, he discusses two different ways that technologies can have politics embedded within them or be associated with certain politics. And then the second is when a technology is created, it kind of requires particular politics to work properly.
