The Innocence of Box Office Flops

I grew up loving a lot of box office flops. Box office didn't mean anything to me. I still love the Robert Altman's Popeye movie musical, which is a notorious flop. Marvel not only went into television, but they also doubled the number of films. That blew my mind. And I was so happy about that. Even though it was money I didn't earn, I was just like, I didn't want to have to give him his money back. You know, damn you Empire Strikes Back,. Because until then, nobody had high expectations for sequels at all.
