A lot of the increase is due to increases in persecution and violence in origin countries. The gaps are pretty large, and can be much as 30 per centage points. There's still huge gaps between the destinations depending on what the recognition rates are. Thate's one of the things that's been of concern to the e u Commission right from the start.
