The Deep State

In the same way that the word empire as you say is sometimes embraced positively embraced by people rather than being repelled by it the same can be said for deep state. What happens well as any bureaucracy gets larger and larger doesn't have to be the military sector but there are unique features about that which I'll return to in a moment. As any bureaucracy becomes larger and larger you're going to have more and more bureaucrats who are insulated from direct electoral accountability where that's good or bad. It might very well protect us from some rogue politician another line of argumentation I've heard as well  it's kind of the Jack Nicholson line in a few good men you can't handle the truth
