What Is the Right of Offset in Environmental Remediation Obligations?

In many cases, a company will either have insurance that provides some level of recovery related to their environmental expenditures. In many cases, there may be other parties, other third parties, who are indemnifying the company, at least in part, for some of those expenditures. And so we get into the question of whether it's appropriate to offset those recoveries with the underlying environmental liability. We have guidance, generally, on the right of offset in a c two ten. But there's nothing cal about environmental remediation obligations in terms of the ability to offset.
