The Senate's Authority to Overlook the Supreme Court
If the Senate somehow did manage to get some ethical rules through for the Supreme Court, what would happen? Like, would that fly? It would depend. They could issue a statement saying that we don't recognize the Senate's authority to do that. Or they could say, you know, we thank the Senate for its advice and we will consult the rules that they have adopted for us. So I think it's both the lack of a transparent set of rules and the lack of any sort of reference point where they can say, okay, we've got this ambiguous question. We're going to go talk to somebody with me philosophically who is there for the purpose of giving me independent and impartial
