The Relationship Between Instrumental Variable and Collider Bias Variable
The instrumental variable is one that might affect an intervention, but not the outcome. A colider variable is a variable that's if you have two coverts that effects that colider and those two variables as well, affect the intervention and the outcome. For example, smoking is the intervention, and the outcome is lung cancer. If you were to toggle smoking lung cancer, then what we're saying isthh, may have an effect on the outcome. So it's kind of like a proxy of your intervention that you care about that doesn't directly affect your outcome.
