The Legend of John Tindall

In 1859, John Tindall did a more sophisticated version of Foots experiment and came to the same conclusion that carbon dioxide absorbs heat. He presented his findings and later became known as the father of climate science. Whether or not Tindall knew about Foots work is up for debate. Some say there was little cross pollination of science across the Atlantic.
