The Rise of the Concrete Industry in the US
In the early twentieth century, rapid social and economic changes in the united states led to te production of concrete on an unprecedented scale. As the industry grew, it gained political cloud and started lobbying for the material to be used more and more. In many parts of the world, building with concrete has gradually undermined traditional techniques and materials. Vita says this is significantly shaped how concrete is viewed and valued to day.
