The British Empire's Response to the Slavery of Sir Nicholas Trot
The English East India Company put a £1,000 bounty on every's head. This is much more than most people back then could reasonably expect to make in an entire lifetime. People all around the world were searching for him and the English were at the forefront of the search. Every had indeed sailed across the Atlantic to the Bahamas where he used some of his limitless wealth to bribe the governor there - Sir Nicholas Trot.
