The Importance of Investing in Midfield

I still don't think Marcia was ever really a true center forward. The effect he has on team shape when playing at center forward is very, very bad for confronting low blocks. Lukaku would have helped with that massively. I'd much rather have kept Lukaku not ever gotten Wombasaka and never gotten Maguire and spent the 80 million on midfielders. It was a massive oversight to invest in midfield and to instead invest at center back in right back. 130 million spent at center back isn't going to elevate your team as much as 130 million spent elsewhere. Smalling from a Gwire was an upgrade, but I don't know about that one.
