Is What Is the Genre of the Work of Art?
Sally Kohn: I'm curious about the politics of autonomy. You touch on this in the book, and there are phrases, for example, about how the art can contribute to the project of constructing a world without hunger and without police. Basically, you're bringing up the two ways in which capitalism can enforce exploitation. But you see these moments in this art, you can resist. Maybe that's the temporary. Skelton: The point is like, when you're confronted with a working art, you're convinced by it or not. It doesn't have any levers the way a strike or a vote or a protest does.
