Building Relationships With Students

One of the things that comes through in a lot of teacher preparation and also in conversations between teachers, is the importance of building relationships with students. I think it was often when they were outside of this rigid school that students could begin to see teachers not just as disciplinarians, but actually as some one i might like to get to know. Teachers yet did talk about a times where they would do mentaring activities with students. There was one teacher in particular who created mentary programme for black boys in the school because she saw them as not being successful. She would buy macdonalds for them. And was develop really positive relationships with them.
