Is There a Future for Blood Tests?

We can detect cancer in the blood. We can figure out where in the body it's come from, and see whether particular treatments are likely to work. And then we can monitor the cancer as it's growing... potentially coming back or not responding to treatment. Once we know whether a drug isn't working any more, you can switch treatment and give people more appropriate treatment. That means that you're more likely to have a better, longer term outcome.
