The Intellectual Life by a Social Longage
For me, the intellectual life started in the rarefied realms of physics. My experience of history and of like English or language arts was that as we, as we went along, like, like greater stress was placed on interpretation. And I found that interpretation was often vexed or contentious. So you could have got through it without math and sciences, but I suspect most intellectuals kind of start there, especially in modernity.
