The Power of Smelling

In the Machigenga language, you can say entire phrases just using animatopeia. Huangtaku is something hitting the ground, and then huangtaku is the animal's final breath. The word for that state of being of sort of wakeful, quiet wakefulness is shikiri,. And it's like someone who can't get to sleep, your eyes moving shikiri. It makes you realize how every new language that you learn sort of expands your mind in a certain way.
