The Outer Space Treaty and the Moon Agreement

The 1967 Outer Space Treaty was ratified by more than 100 countries. Then in 1979 there was a more specific moon agreement drawn up. But this has only been signed by a dozen or so countries. So it's the first treaty, the Outer Space Treaty, robust enough to protect our moon from exploitation. This according to Saskia is one of the reasons why the later moon agreement, which spelled out that this wasn't allowed, was so comprehensively unratified by most nations on earth.
