Lanny blanchard had to have his tongue removed after being diagnosed with cancer. He recorded sentences that gave rupel and her colleagues the different kinds of sounds they would need to build a new voice. The frence between his voice and mave's voice is that rupl didn't need to blend voices from donors. Lani was his own donor.
