Are We Going to Take Our Liberal Ideas Around the World?

There are plenty of people who will say yes I totally hear you that the US government has done things that morally there's no way you can support but somebody's got to run the world. If it's not the United States I guarantee you whoever substitutes for the United States will be far less benign in its operation of empire. The idea that we need someone in charge or else it's going to be chaotic in a world of anarchy is not nearly as powerful as it seems on the face of it. Even if you think about economic activity within a society let alone globally attempts to impose order and control to just the opposite they produce chaos and oftentimes squalor.
