Is Peristonal Long Axis a Good First View?

The peristonal long axis is where the indicator with that sort of like little ridge on the probe is pointing towards the patients. And it's a great way to sort of assess volume status, you know, a quick overview of contractility. Some large caveats though to using this value include inaccuracy with mechanical ventilation which a lot of our patients are going to be in the surgical ICU. An increase in this value would indicate an increase in preload but not necessarily your systematic or systemic response to a fluid challenge.
