The Death of Cormac McCarthy

At 89, Cormac McCarthy was the last of his generation to contribute in that way. His most important book is "Blood Meridian," which is a very murderous dark, dark, dark book about judgment. All the Pretty Horses is also a book about death, but it's about the dying of the old West. It's just extraordinarily beautifully written books.
