Ancient Naval Warfare

i try to imagine how something like this even is coordinated in a leadership kind of sense, i mean, we understand rams. But the thing that i can't make sense of is all of the missile weapons involved,. The catapult, or talk to us a little bit about how ancient naval war might have functioned.
