The Ushapti Figures Are Not Requirements of Work in the Afterlife
There were, um, there was no a requirement of work in the afterlife. But if you didn't want to get your feet muddy and your hands dirty, you could have servant statues to do that for you. Many of the Egyptians were buried with 365 little servant statues who carried farm influence. They're called Ushapti figures; they come from another Egyptian word, Weshib, which means to answer.
