The Best Done Alien or the Best Written Alien?

I really love the aliens in Mary DeRiah Russell's sparrow and the mix of you know understanding and horrible misunderstanding that happens there. I'm wanting to write two species that have relationships and then come to this contest with humans together. My first two books are in fact deconstructive Lovecraftian historical fantasy and they use aliens that lovecraft made up and look that's had many serious issues as a person. Some of which my books are about arguing this but he was really good at coming up with not even remotely humanoid aliens so having whole flat bars of just years old biology that I just made up is this fun oh look fun.
