The River Lord and the Sarcophagus

The River Lord was once a servant of Karen the boatman who was protecting the black river here beneath the Scarlet Center. He was betrayed by a priestess, a priestess of Karen who ended up becoming a Priestess of Vardizane and became a lich. The player had this idea that their character got sacrificed. And then I just connected dots. It's how would it be if you were sacrificed by deep ones? So then we draw this connection between the deep ones and one of the characters.
