Aristotle famously said that virtue is a question of habit. The best time to learn a habit, either in a good sense or in a negative sense, is when you're a kid. If somebody doesn't want to be taught, there's nothing you can do about it. Once you get to the age of Al-Sebaides, or in your 20s, let's say, or even later, there is not much there left to do unless the person wants to improve.
