Why Did You Choose Not to Return to Your PhD?
You chose not to return to your PhD and take the academic route. Can you tell me just a little bit about your thinking then what drove that decision to stick around in industry? Yeah. I think because of the incentive schemes in academia, we are very incentivized to essentially come up with proofs of concept of works. They typically don't deal with the corner cases or with scaling or all kinds of troubleshooting which is many times what's needed for actual impact.
