The Alliance for Defending Freedom Filed a Brief in a Texas Court on Monday Arguing That the FDA Is Violating State and Federal Laws in Its Approval of MIFA-Pristone

The lawsuit was filed in November by the Alliance for Defending Freedom, a legal advocacy group that seeks to outlaw abortion. The suit is currently being considered in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas. Twenty-two Republican State attorneys general filed a brief on Monday, arguing that the FDA is violating state and federal laws in its decision to allow access to MIFA-Pristone. However, twenty-two Democratic Attorney General's argued that annulling the FDA's approval could impact access in states that allow abortion. Medication abortion is the most common method to terminate a pregnancy in the US.
