Are We Getting Away From Democracy?

i believe that we as human beings s are hard wired to follow these strong leaders who project confidence and a path in front of them. And i feel that we learned as a planet in the twentieth century the disastrous results that dictators can produce. But it's been 80 years almost since world war two ended. My feeling now is that the generations of to day have forgotten some of those lessons. They've forgotten why democracy, while imperfect, is the best system that we have yet invented.
