Do You Need an Order to Evacuate the President?

At least one officer expressed confusion and frustr about why the officers weren't breaching the classroom, but was told that no order to do so had been given. This has to be standard operating procedure moving forward - you should not have to wait for an order to take down a shooter. Time equals death. Can happen again. I can't imagine how we were engaged in other duties. Evacuating students is important, but you can leave that up to teachers while you breach the door and take care of the problem. It's going to have to be some instruction moving forward where it's understood that part of your duty is to respond. You don't need orders to do it.
