How Does Trauma Impact UX?

The way that we choose to understand humans emerged from trying to figure out how people use tools was essentially it and applying that to software interfaces. How do we evolve this practice of UX to recognize it's not just about behavior with software interfaces but something deeper and more fundamental? I think a part of it is just recognizing that in the beginning of UX and the development of it, if you're looking at the founding UX forefathers, a lot of them are white, able bodied men.
