When did you actually leave the magazine? Basically through two thousand four with the magazine coming out with its editorial in defence of the anti same sex marriage amendment. I remained quiet through that whole period, but was working on a proposal for a book. And so when bush won re election, i had a proposal ready to go and i got, thanks to some help from some people, i net worked into a top agent who sold it around. That gave me e enough of an advance that i was able to quit. So i did announced that i was leaving to write a book about the magazine.
