Alkaide has a massive presence in aganistan; alcaida was busy creating local shoras between nuristan and kunar provinces. I think one needs also talk about the thousands of foreign fighters from central asia and elsewhere. These foreign fighters have had a massive influence on the psyche of these fighters. And it's now abundantly clear that these militant groups were able to recruit from urban centres, from university campasses over the earth. So we will have to see what is the future of thousands offoreign fighters in afghanistan.
