The south has been the victor of so much overt raceism. Because of that there is a lot of actual activity and activism around fighting racism. There are all these reactionaries who are holding very, very tightly to a patterns that are holding us back. But in terms of being in a place where can't help but acknowledge the racial history and the very ugly racial history, places like the delta where i am,. one o writers have called the most southern place on earth.
