The Rules of the Game Metafoam as a Metaphor for Society
In the 1940s and 50s, a lot of early neo-liberals conceived of society as a game. The idea there was to say that actually, a game is self-regulating. So you don't need the state planning and controlling the economy. And I think that this kind of way of seeing society helps us see one of the things that's missing in this discussion about the role of the state to stop political crises.
