The Second Amendment Is a New Philosophy to the Academic and Legal Discourse
The second amendment was a direct response to concern over article one, section eight of the constitution. The supreme court endorses that view by a vote of five to four in District of columbia v heller. There is debate about whether this philosophy is completely new, or it existed hundreds of years and were just brought up again.
