Otani has not even attempted a steal this year, even with the ease of stealing in 2023. He still hasn't even tried it over that period from July 27 through Thursday. There are 132 hitters who qualify on the fan graph's leaderboard. Of those 132, there are 29 who have not stolen a base. So I think probably he has decided that maybe it's just not worth it for him to do.
