What's the End Game of the West?

It is very possible that this military operation in ukraine unites the west in a way that had been elusive for 20 years. The one risk that goes in the other direction is about end games. One thing i don't under and is what the end game of the west is like. What do we think is a possible way out? And another question is what the russian president's end game is. If it's true that this is more about the geo political order than it is about one country, what if the r Russian president decides to test article five of nato?
