Is There a Need for Support for Gifted Kids in the School System?
There are no mandated supports for giftedness in the school system in australia. You have to have an artistic diagnosis, essentially, to be able to receive any form of regulated or mandated support at school. School can often be reluctant to actually provide them with the support they need. Soi really a common practical example i see if this is really bright kids on the spectrum who had no problem in primary school and then they get to high school - their mental health takes a massive toll.
