The music in this movie is stuff that was oldies at the time, right? You've lost that love and feeling, which is, I think, the theme of the movie. The art department and like the stylings of Charlie's house, you get this feeling like you're looking at a print ad from a bygone era. And remember, they're selling this to mom and pop in Oklahoma,. Which means what they're doing is they're evoking in them a sense of, this was the best time of your life. That's what Top Gun is. It's like a military vacation during the best time Of Your Life.
