The French Habit of Observing Vowel Sounds

O-i gives us a wa sound. In some French words, we have an English too, such as reservoir. Noir, noir in French, which means black. We use this in, for example, film noir, no? Black film. Or in fashion or frequencies where we have a lot of French commercialized, this is spelled n-o-i-r, noir, black. And if we want to say the black cake, we will say the cake black, just like film noir. So it's a good idea to consciously notice different combinations of vowel sounds and get yourself into the habit of noticing.
