The Bible has happy occasions and memories that we're supposed to remember, heroic individuals and families. And it also has traumatic events and records of sin and idol worship that the Bible expects later people of Israel to bear some guilt over. In our current history wars, how much of the negative should we teach of the past without neglecting the positive? I don't see how you could have one without the other.
