Are Gift Cards a Pain in the Butt?
I think gift cards are way underutilized. If you're an e-commerce business and you don't have gift cards set up, it's such an easy opportunity to just collect cash up front. And also guarantee some sort of secondary or third order coming later in the, in next year. Even like airlines do this a lot with their credit card,. A lot of airlines have larger businesses with their credit cards than they do in the airline itself. Starbucks also has, I think like $2 billion of just assets sitting in their gift cards at all times that they can invest.
