The January Barometer
The January barometer really came into effect with the 20th amendment to the Constitution when they moved new Congresses convening to the January after they were elected. But if you go back before World War II, you're looking at an entirely different economy. It's an agrarian economy based upon farming. So now we have the military industrial complex and a service economy which really drives that was best months as we've seen here so far.
