The Reality of Wayland
Red Hat isn't really paying anybody to write code for X 11 anymore. So therefore no one is really right paying anybody anymore to work on X 11. And so there is a transition that needs to happen, but that crap sandwich exists. We may end up using Wayland for 40 years or more. But at the same time it's very nourishing because we get a great platform with free software.
