The Importance of Historical Criticism
I feel like in movies, you know, the best example I can think of is like a Maximus from Gladiator who has like 20th century like liberal values. Like re-establish a Democratic Republic. That's my favorite thing like for that's an old phenomenon. The fact is that they're responding to a market demand by an audience that isn't all white and they want to see characters who are black as they are.
