The Church Fathers Interpret the Concept of Macrocosm and Microcosm
The church fathers, especially St. Maximus the Confessor, really emphasizes this idea that the human being is a microcosm of the entirety of the cosmos. In order to enter into the mind of the fathers, we have to come back to our experience and understand that human experience is the first experience. We've been so used to thinking that somehow technical descriptions of reality are accurate, they're not inaccurate, but they are secondary to our experience.
